Selkirk Wilderness Skiing Weather Forecast

Today's Forecast
Updated at: 3:30pm PDT - Mar 29th 2012

We had a group of 14 shredders up here for our last day of the season at SWS.  Conditions were EPIC for late March.  Blower powder at higher elevations and soft and buttery everywhere in between.  Even as I type in the last report up here at the lodge,  it’s literally “barfing snow” outside - wow, could we ask for a better day to wrap up on!  We are lucky up here on Meadow Mountain!

Thanks to everyone for the good times, big jumps, little jumps, tomohawks, yard sales, short & long stories, games of crud, and laughs all around!  We wish you a stellar summer and we looking forward to sharing some of our secret stashes with you all next season.

Signing off,

The SWS Guiding Team

title

I first experienced SWS in 1996 as a guest.  I fell in love with the place (and with the Lodge Manager).  When I returned in 1997, Bronwyn & I got engaged on Smiley’s (aka Diamond Glade), and married at the Lodge that summer (thanks Brenda & Alan!).  During the winter of 97-98, I realized that in order to see my new wife during the winter, I had to find something to do on the Mountain, so over the next couple of years, I completed avalanche courses, guides training courses, first aid, and hand blasting for avalanche control.  I’m privileged and proud to have guided with Alan, Ron, Jason, Russ, Meaghan, Rob, Heidi, Bob, Kevin, Roger, and many others.  SWS has exceptional safety protocols in place, amazing skiing, and good friends as staff and guests.  I feel fortunate to be part of this team.  When I’m not on Meadow, I can be found chasing my children around Whitewater, and as the Operations Manager of Nelson & District Credit Union.
