Selkirk Wilderness Skiing Weather Forecast

Today's Forecast
Updated at: 3:30pm PDT - Mar 29th 2012

We had a group of 14 shredders up here for our last day of the season at SWS.  Conditions were EPIC for late March.  Blower powder at higher elevations and soft and buttery everywhere in between.  Even as I type in the last report up here at the lodge,  it’s literally “barfing snow” outside - wow, could we ask for a better day to wrap up on!  We are lucky up here on Meadow Mountain!

Thanks to everyone for the good times, big jumps, little jumps, tomohawks, yard sales, short & long stories, games of crud, and laughs all around!  We wish you a stellar summer and we looking forward to sharing some of our secret stashes with you all next season.

Signing off,

The SWS Guiding Team

Intro to Cat Skiing & Boarding

3 days / 3 nights

This package is designed specifically for those new to powder skiing or snowboarding, or for those who want to learn for the first time. This gentle introduction to catskiing/boarding and the SWS experience will include 3 nights accommodation, 3 days skiing or snowboarding and of course our famous lodge cuisine.

Certified CSIA instructors will provide you with instruction in a friendly and calm atmosphere. Lessons will include instruction on powder skiing and boarding techniques including how to enjoy tree skiing, how to fall and get up and how to pick your line down the mountain. All participants in this package will be of a similar experience level, so there is no pressure on getting maximum vertical, rather emphasis will be on just enjoying each of the days and learning all the skills required to have a safe time in our Selkirk powder.

This Intro package is a great opportunity to bring a spouse or a friend who has always wanted to experience cat skiing at SWS, but who may have lacked the confidence in the past or who needs some extra instruction.

During these intro weeks our second cat will be accommodating our regular powder hounds, ensuring a great time for everyone!

This package will only be offered twice mid-season at the following times for 12 skiers/boarders per week:
