SWS Runs of the day
Anne’s Run
Named after one of our guests, this is one of the most spectacular runs in the tenure. Starting from near the peak of Meadow Mountain, Anne?s descends the northwest face from a wide gully / narrow bowl feature and carries on down, down, down over varying mellow rolls and steep drops to the valley bottom about 2500 vertical feet later. The bottom half of this run was, until Jan 18, 2000, very difficult to negotiate as it constricted into a tight creek draw (named ?First Blood?). On that day, a well placed sack of explosives resulted in the widening of this portion to approximately 150 metres (that?s about 500 feet). Needless to say, there is now room for everyone! Although plenty long enough, Anne?s doesn?t present enough gnarly challenge to make Allan?s top five. Funny thing though, he has been seen to drop whatever he?s doing to join the lucky group heading that way.
