Cats Cradle

Cats Cradle is a beautiful wide open bowl facing generally east north east with exposures from straight south in the Cats Claw to straight north in the Sundown Chutes. This run was originally named for the scars left behind after the very first group of skiers made their sketchy descent. Perhaps the snow wasn’t exactly perfect at the time, but the bowl looked like a cat had cut loose with a ball of yarn. This performance has never been repeated and the run is always a crowd pleaser. After you’re done spinning your yarn in the bowl, there is still plenty of fun in the open trees either off an old mining trail which swings to the north, or down the creek to the east.
