SWS Runs of the day

McKian Creek

This generally southwest facing slope has been known to cause some skiers a little grief in the past. The problem lies in the fact that by the time certain individuals have reached the traverse to the pick up location, they are so jazzed about what they have just skied that the untracked snow below the traverse beckons them further. We have become much better at controlling our little issue in there over time. Just believe me when I say, once you hit the traverse, the best of the skiing is done. The magic experienced on this line is felt by most. It is a haven for a variety of wildlife including Ptarmigan, Blue Grouse, Snowshoe Hare, Cougar, Pine Martin and Wolverine, many of which have been seen by our skiing guests. It can be quite a surprise to have a Blue Grouse explode from his little burrow under the powder snow just ahead of your ski tips!
